“Jackass” director Jeff Tremaine will direct Warner Bros’ “Revenge of the Jocks“, a comedy about “Three men, once popular high school jocks with their glory days behind them” who “find themselves forced to adapt to a world run by the geek and nerd crowd, some of whom are only too eager to unleash their own tormenting on the new underdog cla

“Freaks & Geeks” creator Paul Feig is developing a comedy for “Mad Men” star Jon Hamm. Says Feig, “[Hamm] is such a comedy nerd. He will quote lines from Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy. Red Dawn” director Dan Bradley will change the villains in the film, a remake of the 1984 classic starring C.Thomas Howell, from Chinese to North Korean. Since the film is in the can, this will involve some reshoots. Changes will “involve changing an opening sequence summarizing the story’s fictional backdrop, re-editing two scenes and using digital technology to transform many Chinese symbols to Korean.” “We were initially very reluctant to make any changes,” said producer Tripp Vinson, “But after careful consideration we constructed a way to make a scarier, smarter and more dangerous ‘Red Dawn’ that we believe improves the movie.”

Madeleine Stowe and Henry Czerny will join Emily VanCamp in “Revenge“, a new ABC drama pilot about a young girl who seeks revenge on the family that destroyed hers.

Drew Barrymore (“Whip It”) will directHow to be Single“, a New Line comedy that explores the love lives and break-ups of a group of New Yorkers over ten years.

Richard Linklater (“Before Sunrise”) has reportedly met with Warner Bros a few times to discuss possibly directing the long-gestating remake of the 1964 film “The Incredible Mr. Limpet“.

Popstress Janet Jackson has inked a plum film deal with Lionsgate. The actress, who appeared in Tyler Perry’s “Why did I get married?” films, will apparently be developing “diverse material” with the shingle.

Bob Geldof will play philosopher and writer Bernard-Henri Lévy in the French film ”Mauvaise Fille” (”Bad Girl”).
