Matt Reeves (“Cloverfield”, “Let Me In”) will direct “The Passage”, based on the book of the same name by Justin Cronin and produced by Ridley Scott, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The flick, which Scott was contemplating directing himself at one stage, is set a hundred years in the future, where a government experiment to lengthen the human life span goes awry, unleashing a virus that physically and psychologically transforms people into vampires.
Set up at Fox 2000, “Passage” was written by “Gladiator” scribe John Logan; Reeves will oversee a rewrite.
