Ridley Scott weighs in on the ‘Will Harrison Ford be back for Blade Runner 2‘ Question

Reiterating that rumours suggesting Harrison Ford is in talks to reprise his role as Rick Deckard for ”Blade Runner 2” are as false as Shannon Tweed’s bust, director Ridley Scott says they don’t know even know whether the follow-up to the 1982 film will be set before or after the events of the original. As such, it’s too early to speculate whether Ford will have any involvement (or appease Sean Young’s long-suffering manager that she might get a cameo).

“I’m not sure that that’s going to be a story point,” he says concerning Deckard’s possible return. “so I don’t know. But if it were, nothing would please me more. Honestly.”

“We’re still in discussions about whether it should be a prequel or sequel,” says Scott. “It’s an interesting conversation. I’m meeting with writers and I’ve also gone back to Hampton Fancher and he still speaks the speak. He’s right there. I spoke with him this week. But we don’t even have a script yet.”

“I just thought Prometheus was so enjoyable — returning to the world of science fiction was so fun — that I wanted to [go back to Blade Runner, too].”

Fortunately, Scott hasn’t felt the itch to go back to the “Robin Hood” Well yet.
