Rob Zombie is set to direct and produce a Groucho Marx biopic.
The film will be based on Steve Stoliar’s 1996 book “Raised Eyebrows: My Years Inside Groucho’s House” about the time he spent as Marx’s personal secretary at his Beverly Hills home prior to the actor’s death in 1977. During the three years he worked for Marx, Stoliar met the likes of Marx’s brothers Zeppo and Gummo, Mae West, George Burns, Bob Hope, Jack Lemmon, S.J. Perelman, Steve Allen and Erin Fleming.
Oren Moverman is set to pen the screenplay. Producers are Zombie, Miranda Bailey, Amanda Marshall and Andy Gould.
