Having skipped on “Megamind” (he was originally set to voice the lead character but jumped, handing over voicing duties to Will Ferrell) and seen how much dough that’s brought in, Robert Downey Jr’s gone and got himself another plum lungs-only gig : “Peabody and Sherman”.
According to EW, The “Iron Man” star will be voicing the lead character Mr Peabody, a time-traveling youngster who, with his loyal dog Sherman at his side, gets around – – not unlike a young Downey.
Rob Minkoff, director of “Stuart Little” and recently, “The Forbidden Kingdom”, says “Mr. Peabody is this genetic anomaly. He does have brothers and sisters, all of them non-speaking, no super-smart dogs. He’s an outcast, but has overcome it by being so great at so many things.”
Jeffrey Ventimilia and Joshua Sternin, writers of “Yogi Bear”, scripted the film, based on a cartoon that originally aired on the old “Rocky & Bullwinkle” show.
