Robert Loggia, the versatile, gruff-voiced actor of “Scarface” and “Big” fame, has passed away at the age of 85.
The veteran thesp had been suffering Alzheimer’s Disease for five years. Loggia leaves behind wife Audrey, three children and a stepchild.
Among Loggia’s early claims to fame, an Academy Award Nominated turn in “Prizzi’s Honor” (1985) and an Emmy Nomination for detective series “Mancuso, F.B.I”.
His many credits throughout the ’80s and ’90s included “Scarface”, “An Officer and a Gentlemen”, “Psycho II”, “Big”, “Lost Highway”, “Over the Top”, “Independence Day” and three “Pink Panther” films. He also appeared on such series as “The Sopranos” and “Malcolm in the Middle”, for which he was awarded an Emmy Nomination.
Loggia’s most recent films include “Snapshot”, “Sicilian Vampire”, and the upcoming “Hospital Arrest”.
