Roberts is wanted Dead or Alive

Sounds like they’re going to need someone else to fill the vacant spots on the erotic thriller shelf at Blockbuster next year.

Video-King Eric Roberts is headed back to the multiplex, it seems, and he can thank a couple of pop videos for that. Thanks to his high-profile roles in video clips for Mariah Carey and The Killers, Roberts is again on Hollywood’s radar.

The actor, whose many credits include "The Pope of Greenwich Village" and "Runaway Train", has joined the cast of the game-to-film "D.O.A : Dead or Alive".

"I believe in ‘D.O.A.,’ " Julia’s bro tells MTV. "It’s taken from a very intricate, exciting video game. The cast is very happening right now: Devon Aoki from ‘Sin City,’ Jaime Pressley, Sarah Carter."

Directed by Hong Kong action choreographer Corey Yuen, the film was born of "a two-month shoot in some hidden places in China," Roberts revealed, adding that it was due in 2006.

Don’t get too ahead of yourself though Eric – remember you’ve also signed up to star in something called "Princess", to co-star…Pat Morita. Nuf said.
