Rooney Mara doubts she’ll play Lisbeth Salender again

It doesn’t look like those two sequels to David Fincher’s yankee redo of “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” will ever happen.

It’s been years since the first installment, and with that not making enough greenbacks to warrant an immediate greenlight on the sequel, Sony seems to have gone completely cold on finishing the trilogy.

Speaking to E!, Rooney Mara – who got her big break when she was cast as Lisbeth Salender in the 2011 movie – didn’t sound optimistic :

I don’t think it’s going to happen. I’m sad never to do it again, but it just doesn’t seem like it’s in the cards.

Director Fincher had said previously that he’d be surprised if Sony didn’t make the sequel(s) one day, if only because they’ve spent an awful lot of money hiring writers and commissioning draft after draft of the sequel script.
