“Rush Hour” scribe Jeff Nathanson has been tapped to write Disney’s live-action “Lion King” movie, says Deadline.

“The Lion King”, which Jon Favreau will direct, is just one of several live-action films based on classic Disney animated properties in the works. The most recent, “The Jungle Book”, grossed $966.2M worldwide.

In addition to the “Rush Hour” films, Nathanson’s credits include “The Terminal”, “Tower Heist” and “Catch Me if You Can”.
