Russell, Revolori join crime-thriller Amziah King

Kurt Russell and Tony Revolori have joined the cast of Matthew McConaughey-led crime thrillerThe Rivals of Amziah King, currently lensing in Oklaholma.

The indie film is one of several high-profile projects that remains in production having been given a waiver to push on during the writers’ and actors’ strikes.

Though the plot of the film, to be directed by Andrew Patterson, is being kept under wraps it’s been described as a “deeply atmospheric, character-focused crime thriller set against the unique backdrop of remote Oklahoma.”

The characters played by Russell, set for a couple of big years what with the new “Monsterverse” series from AppleTV+, and a rumored return as Snake Plissken in Radio Silence’s Escape from New York reboot, and Spider-Man : No Way Home actor Rivolori, haven’t been disclosed. Also in the cast, former “Arrow” star Katie McNamara, Joey Shear, and Derrick Goodman Jr.

Black Bear Pictures, financiers of I Care a Lot and The Imitation Game, bankrolled the film. Black International International launched sales in Cannes while WME handled domestic. David Heyman, Schwarzman, Michael Heimler, Jeffrey Clifford, Will Greenfield and Patterson produce.
