Sigourney Weaver reprising role for TV series based on her hit film!?

The actress recently reprised her ‘Ghostbusters’ role for the recent ‘Ghostbusters Afterlife’

No surprise here, with the recent announcement that a new “Galaxy Quest” – based on the film of the same name – is being developed for Paramount+ that the stars of the cult comedy would reprise their roles. All but the late, great Alan Rickman, of course.

Now, Giant Freakin Robot hears Sigourney Weaver is officially onboard to reprise her role as Gwen DeMarco in the show – but with a catch. She may be the only returnee – at least in a regular role.

The series, produced by Mark Johnson, will see Weaver’s character play mentor to an all-new troupe on The Protector. Not to say co-stars Tim Allen, Sam Rockwell, Tony Shalhoub and Justin Long won’t make appearances, but at present, it sounds like Weaver will be the headline act of the show.

Weaver will soon appear in the Australian TV series “The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart”, an upcoming drama from Amazon Prime based on Holly Ringland’s best-selling novel of the same name. The seven-part series follows the life of Alice Hart (Alycia Debnam-Carey), who is sent to live with her grandmother June (Weaver) on a flower farm following the mysterious death of her parents.
