First, the big news – Moviehole will be in attendance at the San-Diego Comic-Con 2019! We have a number of writers attending the annual festivities, bringing you the big news as it happens.

In the meantime, check out the latest on the pop-culture festival below.

ScareDiego – Wednesday July 17th

“IT: Chapter Two” will be one of the big players at Comic-Con this year, with the director Andy Muschietti announcing a special ScareDiego event on the evening of the 17th. No specific details of the event have been specified, but no doubt there will be new footage and cast appearances to promote the highly anticipated film, due in cinemas in September.

It will be awesome to see the young class from “IT” alongside their adult counterparts, which include James McAvoy as Bill Denbrough, Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie Tozer, James Ransone as Eddie Kasbrak, Jay Ryan as Ben Hanscom, Andy Bean as Stanley and Isaiah Mustafa as Mike Hanlon. The original Losers’ Club Wyatt Oleff, Jaeden Lieberher, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs and Jack Dylan Grazer will reprise their roles for flashbacks. Not to forget Bill Skarsgård returning in the role of the terrifying Pennywise the Clown.

This writer will 100% be on the scene for this incredible event, so stay tuned!

WB sitting out of Hall H

Some surprising news is that Warner Bros. won’t be seen in Hall H, which can mean that we won’t see any footage from exciting upcoming projects like “Wonder Woman 1984”, the new “Suicide Squad”, “Joker”, “The Shining” sequel “Doctor Sleep”, “Birds of Prey”, “Godzilla vs. Kong”, and Matt Reeves’ “The Batman”.

“IT: Chapter Two” is one of the bigger projects on the WB slate, but will be shown off in ScareDiego in lieu of a Hall H appearance.

“Wonder Woman 1984” have revealed a new poster alongside the announcement they won’t be in Hall H this year, see below.

What else?

No word yet on if Paramount will show up to show off their upcoming films, but if they do we could expect news/footage for “Terminator: Dark Fate” (due out November 1st), “Gemini Man” (out October 11th), “The SpongeBob Movie: It’s a Wonderful Sponge” (out May 22, 2020), “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” (out August 9), “Top Gun: Maverick” (out June 26, 2020), “A Quiet Place” (out May 15, 2020), and probably the movie that needs the exposure the most – “Sonic: The Hedgehog”. Given the latter has been sent back to the drawing board, it could be a no-show for this year’s event.

The same goes for Sony, Walt Disney, Lionsgate and Universal Pictures. With a host of new movies set for release in 2019 and 2020, we shall await word of Hall H appearances!
