Lionsgate has skedded the recently announced “Saw : Legacy” for October 27, 2017.
A reboot of the long-running series kicked off by James Wan and Leigh Whannell’s original, “Legacy” boasts a script by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger.
As Bloody Disgusting first revealed, Aussie filmmakers Michael and Peter Spierig, whose credits include “Daybreakers” and “Predestination”, will be at the helm of the new picture. James Wan, head of the original, will reportedly be serving in a producing capacity – if even an obligatory, ‘don’t-lift-a-finger, we just need your name’ capacity. With the Spierigs at the helm, you’ve got to wonder whether they might try rope their usual frontman Ethan Hawke into his first “Saw” movie?
