Schwarzenegger’s comeback movie may be…

… one he’s been eyeballing for over a decade.

Now that he’s out of office, the world – Okay, AB King and the big guy’s publicist back on Ventura – is asking ‘Will we ever be blessed with a Junior 2 or Still Jingling All the Way?” Well, one thing’s for sure those films will never be greenlight without Arnold Schwarzenegger (unless, of course, they’re done for the direct-to-DVD market in which case Michael Madsen and/or Jason Scott Lee are the prerequisites). The question then remains, is Schwarzennegger even planning on returning to the big screen?
And thirdly, why the hell would anyone want a Junior sequel?

Answer to one of those questions : Yes, Schwarzenegger is planning a return to the creamy mesh screen.

In an interview with TheArnoldFans, the veteran actor – who kicked off his career with “Stay Hungry” in, what was it? 1976? – said he’s reading a number of scripts now, but the vehicle he’s most passionate about is the long-gestating “With Wings of Eagles”.

“Currently I’m reading three scripts. One topic/script, which I considered a long time ago before governor, is delighting me particularly. In it I would play an older soldier, who gets the order at the ending of the war to kill a bunch of kids. But he doesn’t do it and get them to safety at the risk of his life and it has all kind of adventure. This script is based on a true story!”

As the actor cum politician cum actor explains, it’s not so much an action movie as it is a drama and at his age, they’re the types of films he’s weary body is asking him to do.

“In the future I have to adapt my roles to my age. Clint Eastwood also has done it in the same way. Extreme fighting or shooting is not possible anymore. I want to be more encouraged as an actor and I believe that I can manage this challenge. I am like a sponge, which is absorbing all the knowledge and always be willing to learn all new things.”

“With Wings of Eagles” tells the story of a German officer who goes against his Nazi party to help some American POW’s escape. Randall Wallace, of “Braveheart” fame, wrote the script.

There’s a number of projects Schwarzenegger’s been mooted for over the years – a remake of “Westworld”, “King Conan”, comic book movie “Sgt. Rock” and recently, a fifth “Terminator”, among others – but it’s likely a still ways off before we hear whether there’s juice in any of their tanks still.
