Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that Kaya Scodelairo will indeed play the female lead in the next “Pirates of the Caribbean” film. The uber-producer dished via Twitter this arvo.

“Maze Runner” star Kaya Scodelairo is in talks to play the female lead in Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean : Dead Men Tell No Tales”.
Deadline says she’d play the love interest for Brenton Thwaites’ character, a British soldier who teams with Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp).
As reported in previous weeks, Scodelairo was vying for the role alongside Lucy Boynton, Alexandra Dowling, Jenna Thiam and Gabriella Wilde.
Javier Bardem, Geoffrey Rush, and (if the rumours are true) Orlando Bloom will also participate in the Espen Sandberg and Joachim Ronning-directed movie.
