Sequel News : Pirates, Iron Man, Scorch Trials, 007

It’s official. Queensland has won “Pirates of the Caribbean 5”, with filming due to begin in the area in February. “The Australian Government is delighted to have secured the high-profile fifth installment in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ franchise to film in Australia with a contribution of AU$21.6 million”, said Australian Attorney-General and Minister for the Arts, Senator the Hon George Brandis QC. ”This is a landmark deal with The Walt Disney Studios; this film will be the largest international feature film ever to shoot in Australia and will focus the world’s attention on Australia as a leading film destination.”

Robert Downey Jr doesn’t seem to have given up on an “Iron Man 4”. Out promoting his newie “The Judge”, the actor said “I’m sure we’ll ride that thing. You’ve got to surf that all the way in to shore. I think I was at the forefront of something that was coming into being, and I think it has carried me as much as I have informed it. That’s the healthy way to look at it. It’s so easy to become inflated by the successes, but what they really are are long, strong trends. It’s just another wave.” (THR)

Rosa Salazaar (“American Horror Story”) has joined the cast of the “Maze Runner” sequel. In “The Scorch Trials”, she plays the lone woman in a gang consisting of a group of males on the run in the tunnels beneath the city. (Heat Vision)

Singer Rhianna is tipped to be the next Bond girl – at least according to British reports. “Rihanna is a big fan of the Bond films and has always loved the idea of appearing in one” says a source. “She didn’t even need to think about it, she knows she wants to do it. She’s really excited.” (OK!)
