Seth Rogen in a pickle with Columbia

Seth Rogen will star in an untitled film for Columbia about a pickle maker, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Rogen and staple partner Evan Goldberg (“This is the End”, “Sausage Party”) will produce the laffer, which DP Brandon Trost (“Bad Neighbours”, “The Disaster Artist”) will make his directorial debut on.

Rogen will play Herschel Greenbaum, a young man who falls into a factory pickle barrel and emerges, one hundred years later, into hipster Brooklyn.

Simon Rich, who wrote “Sell Out,” the 2013 New Yorker novella on which the new project is based, will write the screenplay based on his own story.

The comedy gets underway later next month in Pittsburgh.
