Caffeinated Clint
Adam Shankman’s “Rock of Ages” is quite likely my most anticipated flick of 2012. It’s right up there. Up on the top. Number One. Winner. First. nd yes I know there’s a few goodies out next year, like “The Avengers”, “Dark Knight Rises”, “Cosmopolis” and, of course, the re-release of “Star Wars” in 3D (or, rather “Phantom Menace”; the other films in the series will roll out each year from then on) but this just sounds like so much fun – what with it’s LP-size listing of ’80s classics (by the likes of Journey and Foreigner), not to mention the casting (Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, and so on). Big hair, soft rock, Cruise in comedy mode… just what the damaged pancreas ordered.
Shankman just tweeted the first pic from the set of the film and it’s of Alec Baldwin and Russell Brand,who play Dennis Dupree, a has-been rock star and owner of the Bourbon (a bar), and Lonny Barnett, respectively.
Brand looks like his usual Weird Al Junior self but Baldwin looks positively rockin!
Baldwin and Brand do a duet of REO Speedwagon’s ‘I Can’t Fight this Feeling’ in the film; for us kiddies of the ’80s here’s the original music video for that one – just to get you in the mood :
