Former “Lost” castaway Ian Somerhalder, “Friday Night Lights”‘ Zach Roerig (He was Tyra’s cowboy boyfriend ‘Cash’) and Kayla Ewell (“Entourage”) have joined the cast of the CW’s ‘sucky’ new teen drama “Vampire Diaries”.
Somerhalder is set to play Damon, a smug vampire who can go from playful to evil in a split second.
Roerig will play the jock Matt, and Ewell will play Matt’s sister.
Previously announced cast includes Nina Dobrev and Steven R. McQueen. Kevin Williamson is the EP.
“Vampire Diaries,” based on a series of books from Alloy Entertainment, centers on a woman who falls for two vampire brothers – one good and one evil.
”The Vampire Diaries” was originally a trilogy. However, pressure from readers led LJane Smith to write a fourth volume, ”Dark Reunion”.
After taking a hiatus from writing for several years, LJane Smith announced in 2008 a new trilogy entitled ”The Vampire Diaries: The Return”, continuing the series. The first installment, ”The Vampire Diaries: The Return’: Nightfall”, was released in Feb.
