“Battlestar Galactica” legend Edward James Olmos will lead the cast of “Sons of Anarchy” spin-off, “Mayans”.
Hailing from showrunner Kurt Sutter, the new series is set after the events of “Anarchy” and centers on EZ Reyes, a prospect in the Mayan MC charter on the California/Mexico border who struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel as well as his need for respect from the women he loves.
Olmos, also known for his turn on “Dexter” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D”, will play Felipe Reyes, the family’s formerly strong patriarch who, after years of being crushed by bullets and labor, struggles to keep his past buried and lead his own sons down a lawful and righteous path.
Sutter will co-write the spinoff alongside Elgin James as well as direct the pilot.

The CW’s “Dynasty” reboot has added Sam Adegoke.
The new “Dynasty” follows two of America’s wealthiest families, the Carringtons and the Colbys, as they feud for control over their fortune and their children.
Natalie Kelley and Elizabeth Gillies were previously announced as set.
