With a female Thor recently announced and Scarlett Johansson’s “Lucy” smashing Dwayne Johnson’s “Hercules” at the box office, it seems female superhero films are rising in popularity, a trend which Sony is cottoning on to.
Sony execs have laid eyes on renderings for a female-driven superhero film set to take place in the wold of Spider-Man.
Lisa Joy penned the script and Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are already locked in to produce the project.
It isn’t known which character the film will centre on but names such as Black Cat, Silver Sabler and Dazzler are currently being churned out of the rumour mill.
No release date has yet been set.
