Soundstage Presents – Chris Isaak – Live in Concert (DVD)

“A few music releases have come without the near-necessary 5.1 soundtrack but thankfully this has got it – and boy does it shake the black boxes on the wall” – Clint Morris

Soundstage Presents – Chris Isaak – Live in Concert (DVD)

He’s one of today’s finest performers – someone you don’t mind shelling out the green for to see twice or three times, even he if does reprise the same shtick and song program. Chris Isaak. Show-off, Comedian, Casanova – and an undeniably fantastic singer.

Recorded a few moons back for PBS, this concert DVD is a must-have for fans of the Californian crooner. 5.1, Widescreen, and encompassing every little ditty you know-and-love, it’s a toe-tapping must-have accessory for any Saturday night.

Recorded in 2003, the concert is customary Chris – all the tracks you love to tap your boots too, as well as all the incontrovertibly hilarious banter he and his band baddies partake in after each tune.

Tracks on here include “America Boy” – which kicks off the DVD – “Wicked Game” – the second song, so not long to wait girls! – “Somebody’s Crying” and a jazzed-up version of “Baby Did a Bad Thing”. There are also a few tracks from his then-latest album “Always got Tonite”.

Raul Malo, the headline-act from the Mavericks, is on stage for a couple of songs too. He, and a string quartet, do “Are we Almost There,” and the Everly Brothers song “Let it be Me.” Good stuff indeed.

Extras include a meet-and-greet with the band, some happy snaps and discography.

A few music releases have come without the near-necessary 5.1 soundtrack but thankfully this has got it – and boy does it shake the black boxes on the wall.
