Spider-Man: Homecoming 2 details revealed

The cinema release of “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is imminent, and initial reactions to the film have been largely positive. This is good news for all, really, as there’s still another 2 films to come about Spidey. Following the press day for “Homecoming”, some new details about the upcoming sequel have come to light.

Collider spoke to Marvel president Kevin Feige and producer Amy Pascal, who revealed that the title for the second film in the trilogy will be titled “Spider-Man: subtitle”. Obviously “subtitle” will be replaced with the word of their choice, which they are keeping under wraps at this stage, but did confirm that no “2” will appear in the title.

The duo remained coy about which MCU character may appear in the second film, in lieu of Robert Downey Jr’s Iron-Man, who we know will not be seen. Michael Keaton’s Vulture is also not appearing in the sequel, but that’s not to say he may not appear in another film in the future.

The film’s release date has been set for July 5, 2019, but no word yet on the release of the third film.

It’s also been noted that director Jon Watts will likely return for the second film, with Pascal commenting “he knocked it out of the park” for “Homecoming”.

See “Spider-Man: Homecoming” in theatres July 7.
