Spider-Man swings into Avengers franchise!

The wheels are in motion.

One of the big revelations to come out of those leaked Sony emails was that the studio had been discussing with Marvel about potentially lending Spider-Man to either the “Captain America” or “Avengers” franchises – both of which are distributed by Disney.

While it seems earlier plans to put Peter Parker in “Captain America : Civil War” have fallen through, Latino Review suggests Spider-Man’s inclusion in “The Avengers : Infinity War Part 1” seems real.

The next “Avengers” movie, “Avengers : Age of Ultron” apparently serves as a goodbye for a couple of popular ‘Avengers’ – namely Captain America, and Thor (though he’ll likely reappear later down the track), so there’s going to be some spots to fill in future instalments.

The plan is, the first of the “Infinity Wars” movies would feature a new line-up of ‘Avengers’ (Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Luke Cage, Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jewel/Power Woman – they’ve all been mooted as possibilities), with the ‘original’ line-up – Iron Man, Thor, and so on – returning for “Part 2”.

So there you go, Sony will let Spider-Man team up with ‘The Avengers’ for the first of a two-part movie story kicking off in 2017.

With Sony planning to scrap the current incarnation of their “Spider-Man” movie series, it goes without saying that it’ll likely be another actor – and not Andrew Garfield, who played Spider-Man in “Amazing Spider-Man” and it’s sequel – behind the red mask. Hey, maybe Tobey Maguire makes a comeback?
