Spidey universe to create Spider-Women animated film

Sony is planning to extend the “Spider-Man” universe, with the studio working on a Spider-women animated film, focusing on three generations of women with Spidey powers. Bek Smith has been tapped to write the script. According to Deadline, Amy Pascal will produce, and it’s likely that Avi Arad and Phil Lord & Christopher Miller will also be involved as will Christina Steinberg.

One of the characters could potentially be Spider-Gwen, a breakout character from the Spider-Verse.

Sony is also already moving forwards on a Spider-Verse sequel that will continue Miles Morales’ story. Joaquim Dos Santos will direct.
