Stephenie Meyer not happy about leaked Breaking Dawn sex pics

It’s pretty normal these days for pictures from the biggest blockbusters to leak online prior to the film’s release- it usually creates great publicity, can help get the public’s reaction to the movie, and can reignite interest in a flick that may have been on the backburner. We all know film studios leak photos intentionally knowing it’ll create an internet storm.

The photo above was officially released from the makers of  “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” a little while ago to get everyone talking about the sex scene that’s pretty crucial to the plot. It’s great promo material.

But it seems the crew at Twilight aren’t too happy about these new photos hitting the web, showing Edward and Bella doing some pretty M-rated stuff.

So much so that this statement was released:

“As some of you may know, pictures and screen grabs of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as a work in progress have leaked on the internet. We are extremely proud of this film and also extremely heartbroken to see it out there at this stage.

The film and these images are not yet ready or in their proper context. They were illegally obtained and their early dissemination is deeply upsetting to the actors, the filmmakers and Summit who are working so hard to bring these movies to fruition to you in November 2011 and November 2012.

Please, for those who are posting, stop. And please, though the temptation is high, don’t view or pass on these images. Wait for the film in its beautiful, finished entirety to thrill you.

Sincerely,

Stephenie Meyer, Bill Condon, Wyck Godfrey and Summit Entertainment”

It looks like Summit Entertainment has been working overtime to force people to take down the images and do everything they can to keep them under wraps, but they are still lurking pretty prominently on the internet.

I don’t know if going to this extent to stop the leaks is a good thing, especially when it seems to get the Twihard juices flowing! And I think it’s inevitable they’ll come out anyway.

Your thoughts?
