Stiller doing Dodgeball sequel

With “Zoolander” getting a tardy follow-up, no shock to hear another Ben Stiller-favourite “Dodgeball” is also getting a belated sequel.

The Hollywood Reporter says the sequel to the Stiller/Vince Vaughn two-hander will be penned by Clay Tarver; Stiller’s production company, who tapped Tarver (“Joy Ride”) for the job, are producing.

The sequel “will focus on Vaughn and Stiller forced to team up to fight an even bigger threat”, according to the trade.

The original flick, which had Stiller and Vaughn playing opponents in the wildly unrestrained Dodgeball competition, also featured Alan Tudyk, Jason Bateman, Christine Taylor, Gary Cole, Justin Long and Stephen Root, among others. No word on which of the thesps will be retained for the sequel.
