Strong cast for Pulse sequel

“Cabin Fever” star headlines second sequel

If there’s one guy I thought would be a bigger star than he is, it’s Rider Strong – and no, he’s not the guy who plugged Helga Humps-a-lot’s hole in ‘’Sex Slaves of the Amazon 4’’ – of “Cabin Fever” fame. The guy is truly talented and such a likeable presence – something I’m sure his fans from the “Boy Meets World” days will attest to – that I truly believed he’d be battling Justin Long for parts by now. Alas, we haven’t seen much of him since Eli Roth’s “Cabin Fever”.

Today, news has trickled in that Strong is returning to his horror roots – though I should point out that he did recently film a small role in the “Cabin Fever” sequel – with a role in writer/director/horror-king Joel Soisson’s “Pulse : Invasion”, the second of the two direct-to-dvd sequels [to the Kristen Bell starring “Pulse”] that’s currently shooting in lovely Louisiana (The first pic is titled “Pulse : Afterlife”).

“Invasion” will take place seven years in the future the survivors on Earth settled into a primitive lifestyle completely void of electronics. The clusters of human survivors live together in refugee camps as the phantoms have taken over the cities. Justine is now a teenager and she escapes to the city to try and make a life for herself where she is not a drain on her adopted family. She heads in to the city at the urging of Adam, a seeming survivor in the city that lures her with promises of understanding and friendship.

Strong joins Jamie Bamber (“Battlestar Galactica”), Georgina Rylance (from Soisson’s “The Prophecy: Uprising”), Noureen DeWulf (“Ocean’s Thirteen”) and Laura Cayouette (“Flight of the Living Dead”), who appear scatteringly across the films.
