Good Aussie flick Sucker out this week

This week sees the digital release of SUCKER, the con film starring Aussie YouTube superstar MyChonny (John Luc) in the leading role as Lawrence. The film is based on the Lawrence Leung stage show of the same name and Leung also co-wrote the film which was directed by Ben Chessell. The VOD release of SUCKER and this week’s successful broadcast debut of Benjamin Law’s The Family Law, mark an exciting time for Asian Australian on screen talent.

SUCKER also stars Timothy Spall as well as up and coming Aussie actress Lily Sullivan. The film tells the story of Lawrence who after caught cheating on his final year math exam, fails to get into medical school. Banished to stay at his goofy uncle’s house for the summer, he meets the ‘The Professor’ (Spall) – a colourful aging conman who invites Lawrence to join him and his sharp-tonged daughter Sarah (Sullivan) on a road trip. As they make their way across the country, Lawrence learns the ancient art of the swindle from the Professor and from Sarah he learns the truth about love.
