A couple of weeks back I had the exclusive low-down on the libretto for The CW’s “Beauty & the Beast”.
A retool of the ol’ Linda Hamilton/Ron Perlman series, the one-hour drama is a contemporary rejig of the classic fairytale with Catherine, the Beauty, now a scarred New York copper and Vincent, the Beast, a Gulf War vet who spends his days locked away in a friends mansion playing wii and drinking beer. The CW (via TV Line) announced today that Kristin Kreuk, who played Lana Lang on the net’s “Smallville”, will play the role of Catherine.
