The Scoop on Minghella's next

‘Alex’ chewed the fat with filmmaker Anthony Minghella at the BiFest International Film Festival in Bucharest last month where she served as a member of the public’s choice jury.

The "Talented Mr Ripley" and "Cold Mountain" director told her all about his next pic, and it sounds about as intriguing as a peek under Keira Knightley’s nightie.

"I have plans to work on a feature. I can barely plan next week, you see, I’m trying to write a film, an original film, and that to me is what I need to do right now", said Minghella.

"The idea that I’m going to make is based on various notions. One of them is in the Bible: it says that it’s easier for a cammel to go through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to give up his fortune. And the other one is the story of a burglary. It’s about this building which is constantly broken into and a man who has fears of having things stolen from him, and you come to believe all the time he had benefited, rather than lost. So it’s about the relationship between people who are taking and the people who have been taken from"

Minghella says he’ll be shooting it in London. (He has Diana Dumbrava in mind for a role).

Big Thanks to ‘Alex’
