The Weeksly Late Edition – 4/1/08

Good evening Ladies & Gentlemen, and welcome back to “The Weeksly Late Edition”. Being so early in the year, there’s not a hell of a lot to talk about just yet, especially with the Writer’s Strike still on, but while I’m on the subject – Happy New Year to one & all – but enough of that shit, let’s get on with it:

So, again, not a hell of a lot of news to go along with at the moment, so instead, let’s focus on the easy shit, starting with one of the best shows ever – “The Wire”. If you’re on of those people from what-it’s-name… The U.S., you can catch the 5th (and final) season premiere of the show on HBO on Demand – and continue to do so every Monday for the 10 episode season. If you’ve never seen “The Wire”, you’re fucking mental, and shouldn’t keep reading. But if you have, and love it, you may also want to consider picking up “The Wire: And All the Pieces Matter – Five Years of Music from the Wire”, which sounds pretty awesome from the previews I’ve listened to.
Here’s the preview for the season:

OK – I’m not sure what this means exactly, but I figured I’d pass it on to you – anyone heard of this company before? ;):

Speaking of other shows I went through in my “Best Of” list, I mentioned how much I loved “Life On Mars”, and was looking forward to the follow-up, “Ashes To Ashes”, which changes the setting from the 70’s to 1981 – here’s a promo image for it:

Alright – a few quick little notes her, first off, the last “Pre-Strike” episode of “Gossip Girl” is due to air next Wednesday (9th/1st) – if you haven’t watched it yet, I really can’t recommend it highly enough. Alongside Josh Schwartz’ other new show – “Chuck”, there’s been some great TV as of late, not the least of which is my favourite show of 2007, “Friday Night Lights” which is back tonight (4th/1st) – and running through it’s last remaining Pre-Strike episodes throughout January. But – to keep you going in the meantime, here’s a few other shows to keep an eye out for coming up shortly:

Flash Gordon – (Sci-Fi) 4th/1st
Cashmere Mafia – (ABC) 6th/1st
The Wire – (HBO) 6th/1st
Medium – (NBC) 7th/1st

They should keep you busy for a little bit – and just because I can, I mentioned “Chuck” earlier, so here’s the smokin’ hot blonde babe (who as it turns out is actually Australian – nice!), Yvonne Strahovski, who plays Sarah:
