MGM has unleashed – at long last; the film is mere months away and this is the first we’ve seen of it!? – the first stills from director Gil Kenan’s “Poltergeist” remake.
The film, which features the likes of generic scary clown #1, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Sam ‘I Should Know Better’ Rockwell, seems to be a carbon copy of the original ’80s classic. Which again begs the question, Why!? (and NO, I’m not bitter).

Legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi (producer) reimagines and contemporizes the classic tale about a family whose suburban home is invaded by angry spirits. When the terrifying apparitions escalate their attacks and take the youngest daughter, the family must come together to rescue her.
