The cast of ABC’s new “Titanic” mini-series has been revealed.

Linus Roache (”Batman Begins”) and Geraldine Somerville (”The Harry Potter” films) will lead the cast of the Julian Fellowes-written production, which sets sail in Budapest, Hungary in May.

”The pedigree of talent behind the Titanic is already outstanding,” commented Barb Williams, SVP, Content, Shaw Media. “The addition of this rich and diverse cast illustrates the sheer calibre of this epic production for our television audiences, and we’re looking forward to showcasing Titanic alongside our broadcasting partner, ABC.”

Canadians Noah Reid (”Jane and the Dragon”), Linda Kash (”Cinderella Man”) and David Eisner (”Flashpoint”) are also featured alongside international cast mates Celia Imrie (”Bridget Jones’ Diary”), Toby Jones (”Captain America”), Perdita Weeks (”The Promise”), Lee Ross (“EastEnders”), Jenna-Louise Coleman (”Waterloo Road”), Sophie Winkleman (”The Palace”), Steven Waddington (”Sleepy Hollow”), David Calder (”The World is Not Enough”), James Wilby (”Gosford Park”), Antonio Magro (”Little Dorrit”), Dragos Bucur (”The Way Back”), Stephen Campbell Moore (”Ben Hur”), Lyndsey Marshal (”Hereafter”), Mark Lewis Jones (”Robin Hood”), Ruth Bradley (”Primeval”), Peter McDonald (”The Damned United”), Sylvestra Le Touzel (”Amazing Grace”).

April 2012 sees the 100th Anniversary of the sinking of the HMS Titanic. To mark this significant centenary, BAFTA winning producer Nigel Stafford Clark has created ”Titanic”, written by Julian Fellowes, the Oscar winning screenwriter of the hit costume drama ”Downton Abbey” as well as ”Gosford Park” and ”The Young Victoria”. Jon Jones (”Northanger Abbey”) will direct; Nigel Stafford-Clark and Chris Thompson (”Love Actually”, ”No 1 Ladies Detective Agency”) serve as the producers for this miniseries.

”Titanic” is the extraordinary re-telling of that doomed voyage, cleverly weaving action, mystery and romantic plots featuring fictional and historical characters, before coming together in an explosive and unforgettable finale. Titanic will focus on different characters ranging from steerage passengers to upper class guests. Each point of view will culminate in a cliff-hanger as the ship begins to flounder, building to an explosive conclusion which draws together each of the stories. Viewers will be taken on a heart wrenching journey through Titanic’s last hours, as the drama reveals which of the characters they have come to know so well will survive…and who does not.
