Tobolowsky recast on Heroes

My good friend Stephen Tobolowsky (no doubt best known as the exasperating Ned in “Groundhog Day” though he’s also appeared in numerous other films including “Memento”, “Basic Instinct”, “Wild Hogs”, “Bird on a Wire”, “Memoirs of an Invisible Man” and, of course, “Stephen Tobolowsky’s Birthday Party”) appeared on the /film podcast yesterday and had some interesting news to share about “Heroes”. Seems his character will be returning – it just won’t him be him playing him.

“They’re now looking for a 15-year-old Stephen Tobolowsky to be on Heroes”, says the actor, who recently departed his role as Bob Bishop on the series. ”They want a Stephen Tobolowsky-type. They describe the character as very “clumsy” [and] “awkward”… and all these things [Laughs]. They’re doing the cast and call now they say.”

As for whether Tobolowsky himself will return as Bob Bishop. “Ya never know – in that show, you never know”.

The casting call for the “Heroes” part can be seen at the SpoilerGeeks website.
