Reese Witherspoon’s Peggy Lee biopic has secured a director.
Todd Haynes will helm the film about the singer, songwriter, composer and actress who passed away in 2002.
The film was originally set up at Fox in 2000 with Nora Ephron attached to write and direct the pic. The project was put on hold however when Ephron passed away in 2012.
Doug Wright re-wrote Ephron’s script.
Witherspoon announced Haynes’ involvement at the Toronto Film Fest. Her films “Wild” and “The Good Lie” are currently screening at the festival.
