Tom Hanks’s debut to be remade

“Alone” getting remake treatment

An old Tom Hanks movie is getting the remake treatment.

No, not “Turner & Hooch”. Not “The Burbs”. Not “Nothing in Common”. Not “Big” (Though I don’t doubt they’ll all actually be redone at some point). It’s actually Hanks’s debut pic – something he only appeared fleetingly in – “He Knows You’re Alone” (something you can pick out for about $2 in a department store these days).

The 1980 film told of a young bride-to-be who is being stalked upon by a serial killer. She gets help from a former lover, but will they manage to escape?

In the film, Hanks played the character of Elliot.

Bloody Disgusting, who revealed the news over the weekend that a remake is in the works, says that no director or writer is on board the project yet, but the studio is keen to sign someone up quickly. So, in other words, keep an eye on your answering machine messages : Jake Wade Wall; Dave Meyers; Jonathan Liebsman; etc.
