Tony Hale boards The Road Chip

Alvin and the Chipmunks are coming back, again. Cue groans from parents across the globe. But don’t worry, because Fox 2000 has come up with yet another punny title for the film.

Variety reports that “Veep’s” Tony Hale has come on board the fourth “Alvin and the Chipmunks” instalment, titled “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip” – this chapter follows previous instalments “The Squeakquel and “Chipwrecked”.

Anyway, Hale will play the villain opposite co-stars Jason Lee, Justin Long (voice), Matthew Gray Gubler (voice) and Jesse McCartney (voice).

Walt Becker helms from a script by Randi Mayem Singer, however plot details remain unknown.

Producers are Ross Bagdasarian and Janice Marmen with Karen Rosenfeld exec producing.

“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip” will drive into cinemas on December 23, 2015.
