Here’s a film parents need to watch with their kids.
A trailer has been released for director Sara Hirsh Bordo’s documentary “A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story”.
The film follows the inspiring journey of 25-year-old Elizabeth “Lizzie” Velasquez who was born with a rare syndrome that prevents her from gaining weight. As a result, she was bullied as a child in school before discovering a YouTube video labelling her “The World’s Ugliest Woman” as a teenager. However in 2013, Lizzie gave a TEDx talk that became the most viewed TEDWomen event of the year. Weighing in at just 58-pounds, Lizzie has gone from from cyber-bullying victim to anti-bullying activist who is now lobbying for the first federal anti-bullying bill.
The film premieres at SXSW on March 14th at 11 a.m. at the Paramount Theater.
