A trailer has been released for Dakota Fanning period pic “Effie Gray”.
The historical drama was directed by Richard Laxton and also stars Emma Thompson, Tom Sturridge, David Suchet, Julie Walters, Greg Wise, Claudia Cardinale, Robbie Coltrane, James Fox and Derek Jacobi.
Emma Thompson penned the script about the love triangle between the titular character, her husband – Victorian art critic John Ruskin – and artist John Everett Millais.
Based on true events, the film looks at the strained marriage between Ruskin and his teenage bride. When Ruskin refuses to consummate the marriage, Effie soon falls for the charms of Millais. She eventually becomes one of the first women in history to seek a divorce from her husband.
“Effie Gray” will bow in the UK on October 10.
