Travolta responds to Gervais’ jab

You’ll recall at last week’s Golden Globes host Ricky Geravis dousing John Travolta’s chubby cheeks in a tub of blush.

Gervais, as cheeky as ever, made a crack that suggested Scientologist Travolta was a closet homosexual (I won’t get into this here – we know what we know; more so, It’s not our business).

“Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor — two heterosexual actors pretending to be gay, so the complete opposite of some famous scientologists then,” Gervais said before adding, “My lawyers helped me with the wording of that joke. They’re not here.”

The audience broke into uncomfortable laughter.

Always a points winner for how cool and collected he keeps himself, Travolta told TMZ that this year’s Globes was “Well, you know, it was more like a roast”.

I like Travolta. He’s not only a good actor but he’s a super nice guy. He was one of my earliest interviews and was great – made you feel very relaxed and honestly seemed to appreciate you taking the time to talk to him. For a billionaire megastar that’s been around since the ’70s, that was something.
