Sisterland
ABC and Fake Empire‘s Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage and Rina Mimoun are teaming on a television series adaptation of the best-selling novel by Curtis Sittenfeld. “Sisterland tells the story of identical twin sisters born with paranormal abilities and how those abilities shape their very different lives. Mimoun is writing the adaptation and is executive producing with Schwartz, Savage and Fake Empire president of television Len Goldstein.” (Deadline)
Man/Child
Damon Wayans Jr has sold a new pilot to Fox/20th Century Fox Television called “Man/Child”, which “centers on two single dads who move in together and struggle to find the balance between being responsible parents and debaucherous bachelors.” Wayans will star in the show, with Jason Winer directing the pilot. Modern Family spin-off
Rob Riggle may headline a “Modern Family” spin-off, reprising Gil Thorpe, “Southern California’s most successful real estate agent.” Thorpe is abrasive and has a penchant for inserting his name in words, like “Thorpedoed” and “Gil Pickles.” (Deadline)
The Returned
Carlton Cuse (“Bates Motel”) is in talks to adapt the US version of French series “The Returned” – about several people, long presumed dead, who reappear – for A&E. “The Returned takes an incredibly unique approach, filled with suspense and twists and turns, to the subject of the living dead,” said A&E’s EVP and general manager David McKillop. Added FMNA CEO Thom Beers, “Having seen Fabrice Gobert’s original version and the success the series has had in France, we’re thrilled to be partnering with the team at A+E to bring this enigmatic thriller to U.S. audiences.” (Deadline)
