The upcoming “Venom 2” will feature a second villain, according to Deadline.
In addition to the previously announced Carnage (Woody Harrelson, reprising the role he originated in the mid end-credits sequence of the original), Marvel Comics character Shriek has been weaved into the screenplay of the October 2020 release.
As the trade reminds us, Shriek was an accomplice and romantic interest of Carnage – or Cletus Kasaday – and so the character’s incorporation makes sense.
“Right now the role is not filled, the net is cast wide toward many kinds of actresses,” one source told the site, adding that the filmmakers are “looking mostly at unknowns right now.”
Andy Serkis will direct the film, which will again feature Tom Hardy under the gooey hoodie, inheriting the megaphone from Ruben Fleischer.
