The Hunger Games
Woody Harrelson – and not John C.Reilly as originally rumoured – will be playing Haymitch Abernath, the alcoholic Hunger Games winner who trains Katniss, in director Gary Ross’s film adaptation of the Suzanne Collins novels. Harrelson (“No Country for Old Men”, “Zombieland”) joins Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Wes Bentley, Elizabeth Banks and Stanley Tucci in the March 2012 release.(More…)

Sleight of Hand
Keifer Sutherland (“24”), Gerard Depardieu (“My Afternoons With Margueritte”), Thomas Jane (“Hung”), Jon Lovitz (“Casino Jack”), Johnny Hallyday (“The Pink Panther”), Til Schweiger (“Inglourious Basterds”) and Eric Cantona (“Elizabeth”) will star in the new heist film from director Brad Mirman. “The international cast plays a crew of small time crooks in Paris, who inadvertently end up possessing a rare gold coin belonging to a notorious French gangster. The leader of the crew calls his uncle (Depardieu), a retired criminal, to help them raise the money to repay the gangster. The series of mix-ups and double crosses culminate as the gangs are pit face to face, chasing through Paris.” (More…)

Untitled Zachary Quinto comedy
Zachary Quinto (“Star Trek”) will produce the found-footage romantic comedy (no synopsis is available) that will reportedly feature – in addition to Quinto? – a slew of recognizable comedians. says the press release… “the film mixes scripted and improv comedy and utilizes an ensemble of actors and comedians from the Periods Films web shorts that have been featured on Huffington Post, Funny or Die, and numerous other online comedy outlets.”

A Boy Named Sue
“Green Lantern” star Ryan Reynolds is attached to this “Tootsie” clone, playing “a guy who disguises himself as a woman to win his ex-girlfriend back.” Allen Loeb (“21”, “Wall Street : Money Never Sleeps”) is developing the project. (More…)

American Reunion
As expected, Thomas Ian Nicholas (“Let the Game Begin”) – who’ll actually be stopping by ‘The Hole Cast’ shortly – will reprise his role as ‘Kevin’ in the forthcoming “American Pie” sequel. Alyson Hannigan, Seann William Scott, Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari, Chris Klein, Eddie Kaye Thomas and Eugene Levy are all set to reprise their roles in the 2012 laffer that sees the gang, including billionaire reality star Oz (Klein), married man and dad Jim (Jason Biggs), older-man dating Heather (Suvari) and world-explorer Finch (Thomas), returning to East Great Falls High for their reunion. Val Lauren (“Dallas 362”) will play Sal Mineo (“Rebel Without A Cause”) in a new biopic James Franco has been developing. “Produced by Franco’s Rabbit Bandini shingle, the film will begin shooting in Los Angeles in early summer. It has been adapted for the screen by Franco from a recently released biography of Mineo by Michael Gregg Michaud.” (More…)
