– Juliet Landau (Dru from “Buffy “ and “Angel”, Loretta King of “Ed Wood”) has just launched the website for the “Godhead” video “Hero” as well as a Making of. She co-directs as well as appears in the video.

– Veteran TV director James Burrows has signed on to direct two comedy pilots, Fox’s “Absolutely Fabulous” and NBC’s “100 Questions for Charlotte Payne.” Meanwhile, Oscar Winner Davis Guggenheim has come on board to direct the “Melrose Place” pilot for The CW.

– LL Cool J is getting on the gumshoe beat. The rapper-actor has been set to star in CBS’ planned spinoff of “NCIS.”

– “Soup” host Joel McHale has been cast as the lead on NBC’s comedy pilot “Community,” which Anthony and Joe Russo have signed on to direct. The Sony-produced “Community” is described as “Stripes” in a community college and centers on Jeff (McHale), a lawyer who is back at school after his college degree is deemed invalid.

Bloody Disgusting have casting details for the “Nightmare on Elm Street” remake. As you’ll read, the role of Freddy Krueger seems to be still up for grabs.

– Melissa Leo has joined the cast of indie drama “Betty Ann Waters” alongside Hilary Swank, Minnie Driver and Sam Rockwell, says Variety.

– TVs “Crash” will be back for a second season with a 13-episode order. About half of the story lines in the first season will continue into Season 2. Roughly half of the cast, including star Dennis Hopper, will stay on.

– Pruitt Taylor Vince and Jason Connery will star in “Glass Houses”, a Mark Bernier written/directed pic about a cop haunted by ghosts of his youth.

– Details about George Clooney and Juliana Margulies’ return to “E.R” are up at Aint it Cool.

– The feature version of “Astro Boy” is officially back on track for an Oct. 23 release after producer Imagi Entertainment announced it’s completed a $25 million financing plan, says Variety.

– Will America ever see Heath Ledger’s final film? Terry Gilliam’s “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” is in a spot of trouble, says The Hollywood Reporter.

– Ellen DeGeneres will star in (well, her voice will) and produce “Dog Show”. While plot details are being kept on a leash, the story centers on a stray dog and her misfit friends who shake up the famed and pure-bred world of a Westminster-like dog show.

– Lance Henriksen, Bill Moseley, Justin Pierre and Davey Havok are lending their voices to writer-director Matt Pizzolo’s film version of “Godkiller” for producer Halo-8 Entertainment. Based on a comic book Pizzolo created with illustrator Anna Muckcracker, the adaptation is described as an “illustrated film” mixing elements of anime, radio drama, video games and comics.

– Mark Verheiden has been hired to pen the DreamWorks project “Quartermain.” The sci-fi adventure springs from an original idea, though no plot details are available

– Tony Todd, Tom Savini and Michael Berryman will star in Jeanie Sidelman Galster’s “The Ground House”, a horror picture set in a coffee shop.

E Online reports that Michael Cera has caved in and agreed to do the “Arrested Development” movie. In addition, Ron Howard mentioned on the Red Carpet of the Oscars earlier this week that the film is officially happening.

– Michael Madsen has met about a role in the new “Bonnie & Clyde” movie starring Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers, according to Cinema Blend. In addition, Madsen is rumoured to be up for a role in the film adaptation of the comic “Cross”.
