Vin Diesel’s Kojak gets new writer

Vin Diesel’s “Kojak” movie is pushing forward, with playwright Philip Gawthorne hired to write the film, according to Variety.

Neal Purvis and Robert Wade had previously been attached to write the film adaptation of the classic cop show.

The Universal Pictures production follows the same story as the series, with Diesel playing NY Detective Theo Kojak.
