Violent Night screenwriters said to be involved in Mummy movie

Pat Casey and Josh Miller, co-writers of Universal Pictures’ Violent Night, are rumoured to be involved in a new Mummy movie at the studio.

With the online campaigning to have Oscar winner Brendan Fraser reprise his role as Rick O’Connell in a third sequel to Stephen Sommers’ The Mummy, it’s likely the new film is connected to those earlier films.

Casey and Miller, though best known for writing the Sonic the Hedgehog films, are die-hard horror movie fans; during the junket for Violent Night, the duo hinted that some of the projects they were involved in were exciting, hush-hush projects they’d signed NDAs for.

There have been three Mummy movies starring Brendan Fraser.
