The new “Green Lantern” movie (it can’t be any worse than the Ryan Reynolds abomination, right!?) will feature the character of John Stewart (from the comics, not the Daily Show) and Hal Jordan.
Heat Vision says David S. Goyer and Justin Rhodes are writing “Green Lantern Corps” – the first live-action take on the DC comic to feature two member of the Corps in lead roles. In the comics, Stewart was a replacement for Jordan.
Goyer is no stranger to the comic book movieverse; he was one of the writers onboard “Man of Steel”, “Batman Begins”, “Batman v Superman”, and the first, abandoned feature film version of “The Flash” (which Ryan Reynolds was briefly attached to).
While Tyrese Gibson has long been touted for a lead, Sterling K.Brown, of “The People vs O.J Simpson” and “This is Us”, has already put his hand up to play the ring-fingered Stewart :
Dear powers that be, if you are looking for someone to play John Stewart, I humbly submit my name. Namaste?? #GreenLanternCorps https://t.co/1DTshcKS5M
