Watchman gets work as a Courier

With Jason Statham seemingly content doing remakes of old Charles Bronson (and, for that matter, Oliver Grunner flicks – “Expendables” jab right there!) flicks, there’s a space that needs filling in terms of two-word muscle-for-hire franchises. Might “The Courier” be the cure for those left aching with “Transporter” withdrawals?

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, fresh from the liked but not-so-successful “The Losers”, is said to play the lead role in a new biffo flick from ”Paradise Now” helmer Hany Abu-Assad.

Deadline says the “Script’s by 3:10 to Yuma team Derek Haas and Michael Brandt, and Morgan plays a courier who has taken on improbable missions and never missed a drop. He’s hired to deliver a briefcase to a notorious underworld figure that can’t be found. The courier finds himself pursued by corrupt cops, double-crossing feds and rival crime bosses. Cary Brokaw is producing.”

Morgan has some good stuff due out over the next year – sans the “Red Dawn” remake, of course, which won’t hit theaters until 2040.
