Whoopi Goldberg, Keith A. Beauchamp and Frederick Zollo are set to produce “Till”, a film about the murder of African American teen Emmett Till in 1955.
Thomas K. Levine, Paul Kurta and Susan Rose are also producing.
14-year-old Till was brutally tortured and murdered by a white woman’s husband and his half-brother after after he allegedly flirted with the 21-year-old woman.
The film will be based on Beauchamp’s 2004 documentary “The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till” and Simeon Wright’s “Simeon’s Story: An Eyewitness Account of the Kidnapping of Emmett Till.”
Production will kick off early next year (a Kickstarter campaign has been launched to raise funds for the shoot.)
